“Asante Sana” is the Swahili translation of “Thank you very much.”

Asante Sana for Education was founded by Ashley Washburn after traveling to Tanzania and volunteering in primary schools and orphanages. She was struck by the amazing spirit and strength that these children possessed, and by their insatiable desire to learn. These children know that education is the key to realizing their dreams, unfortunately, due to poverty, disease and a general lack of resources, many do not have access to even a Primary school education. Asante Sana For Education was founded to help empower these bright, curious and talented children by providing them with the tools and mentors they might not otherwise have access to, so that they can improve their lives, and the lives of their families and communities.
