Sample Tanzania Cultural Immersion Trips

(All inclusive, except transportation to/from Tanzania, immunizations, visa, and shopping)

   Days 1-2 

           On Our Way

                    Travel days from Home to Julius Nyerere International Airport and to Bagamoyo, Tanzania.     

   Day 3 

           Welcome to Bagamoyo

                     History Tour of Bagamoyo including

                      Slave quarters and markets, German Forts, Fish Market, First Schools and the Slave Museum.

   Day 4 

           BEE Montessori Preschool

                Meet the Montessori teachers and students and learn about Montessori methods.

           Students Empowering Students Club

                 Meet with the SES students and work with them on English and computer skills.      

   Days 5 - 6 

            BEE Montessori Preschool Camp

                 Have fun with our young students doing individual and group art projects, sports and lots of dancing.

            Students Empowering Students Club

                 Meet with our secondary students and share knowledge, culture and stories.

    Day 7  

           Mnindi Primary School

                 Travel to Mnindi village in Vigwaza Ward to visit the 2nd primary school built by ASFE in 2014.                                          

   Day 8

            BEE Montessori Preschool Camp

            Students Empowering Students Club

   Day 9 

           Art Market

           Drumming Lessons

           Pack for Safari

   Days 10-15 

           Safari to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park

                 Day 1: Travel to Dar es Salaam and catch flight to Kilimanjaro Airport where we meet with guide

                   Travel by Safari vehicle to Rhino Lodge on top of Ngorongoro Crater.

                 Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Tour - transfer to Serengeti National Park

                   Early start, transfer to Ngorongoro Crater and descend the 600 meters down to the crater floor where you will spend a                                         full day on game drives with picnic lunch. The crater is famous for its large mammal populations - keep an eye out for                                       the elusive black rhino; there are around 23 in the crater. Most of the elephant you see will be bulls as females tend to                                         avoid the area due to its having the highest predator density in Africa. 

                   Depart Crater and travel to Pure Tented Camp in Serengeti National Park for 3 nights.

                Day 3-4: Explore the spectacular Serengeti National Park

                  Two full days of game drive to explore the Serengeti National Park - a Bucket List place. Our days are spent surrounded by                                  amazing wildlife and nights spent listening to the lions roar and hyenas laugh as you are tucked cozy in your tent.                

                Day 5: Final day in Serengeti National Park

                  Early start, depart for a final game drive and head towards west border of Serengeti to Mwanza, on the shore of Lake Victoria. 

                Day 6: Fly back to Dar es Salaam and drive to Bagamoyo

                  We may end up flying out Thursday evening depending on flight schedules (to be determined later).

 

 Day 16 

           Painting Lessons

           Shopping

           Visit our favorite seamstress

                Pick fabrics and get custom made clothes, bags, or whatever your imagination wants.

  Day 17 

           Maasai Village: Visit with our dear friend Seratiani and her family.
  Days 18-19 

           BEE Montessori Preschool

           Students Empowering Students Club

           Painting lessons - complete any unfinished work.         

  Day 20        

           Art Shopping/ Seamstress

           Celebration  

                   Farewell party with ASFE staff and friends with Traditional music, dancing and food.       

 Days 21-22 

           Dar es Salaam /Airport

                   Depart Bagamoyo after breakfast to Julius Nyerere International Airport and Home or for those extending to Zanzibar.
