Asante Sana for Education provides tools, education, medical support and mentors to foster the educational experience of children in Tanzania.  We aim to improve lives and communities by providing educational opportunities to students of all ages  and building schools in communities with no access to education, allowing students to pursue their educational ambitions in Tanzania and throughout the world.

Students Empowering Students

The SES program eliminates many of the challenges Tanzanian students face in attending secondary school, college, and university by covering most, if not all, of the school fees and medical expenses for our members.

In addition, ASFE connects our students to students worldwide (primary school through university), through Skype, letters, videos and Cultural Immersion trips to Tanzania to help teach English and computer skills to our secondary students, while simultaneously teaching students around the world about the reality of life in the developing East African country.  Students learn about the similarities and differences between their respective cultures, and how a small act can make a big difference to so many people.

BEE Montessori Preschool

BEE Montessori Preschool - tuition free - opened in February 2017 serving at risk preschool age children in Bagamoyo. Our goal is to provide a head start for these children through preschool and have them return to our Learning Center in the afternoons for additional education support once they join kindergarten in  primary school at age 6.

Asante Sana to Betsy, Emily and Ellie van Gemeren (BEE) for their support in making this ASFE dream a reality.

Days For Girls

Asante Sana For Education  has been supporting Days For Girls International (DfG), a NGO based in USA, providing feminine hygiene supplies and health education to girls throughout the world, since 2017.  We have provided over 3,700 of the DfG reusable menstrual kits and hygiene classes to girls in Bagamoyo District  schools, Non-Government Organizations and remote communities allowing them to stay healthy and remain in school or work every day of the month.

Building Primary Schools

Asante Sana For Education works in partnership with village governments to support building schools by providing financial, technical, and design assistance in the construction of primary school facilities including:  classrooms, offices, latrines, teacher housing, and recreational areas.

ASFE feels it is important for each community to contribute to the creation of their school by donating the land for the school campus, raising a portion of the required funds and providing unskilled labor during construction, all of which will create community ownership and pride in their new school.

Upon completion, each school is registered with the Tanzania Ministry of Education and the Bagamoyo District Executive Office and operated as a Tanzanian government school.
